Summer Bucket List – The Beach!

How can you not go to the beach during the summer? Jonathan took vacation the last week of July to get a few odds and ends done on the house, but to also have fun with the family. The highlight of our week was probably going to the beach. The girls love the beach. Abigail loves the water, Lily loves the sand, and Sarah loves both! Nonna, Auntie Laura, and Bridget joined in on the fun as well.

We went to Salisbury Beach State Park Reservation, which is probably our favorite beach to go to. We just might buy a seasons parking pass next year so we can be sure to visit plenty of times and get more bang for our buck. We had so much fun that Jonathan asked about taking a random day off in August which we will likely use for another beach trip!

I took tons of pictures, here are some of the better ones:

Our September Beach Visit

While we were down in South Carolina we thought about going to the beach but did the zoo instead. I pretty much figured our beach-going days of 2013 were over. Thankfully I was wrong. Last Wednesday we had highs in the upper-80’s/low-90’s! This is not typical weather for September in New England. Jonathan had the day off, so we decided to take a family trip to the beach.

Now it is time to pack up our suits, buckets, and shovels for the winter. Beach visits will be very interesting with four kids instead of three!

Beach Day!

Last Friday Jonathan and his department were given the day off. When we talked about what we might want to do I suggested, “maybe if the weather is nice, we can go to the B-E-A-C-H.” To which Abigail exclaimed, “the beach!” It turns out that the weather on Friday was perfect for the beach and we had a blast.

We went to Salisbury Beach State Park Reservation and scored free parking too. We spent a good four hours there and spent most of our time dodging wave and playing in the sand.
