My Mom and Dad were planning to visit my brother and sister-in-law in New Jersey this summer. We thought it would be fun to join them along with my sister, her husband, and my niece. It was one big happy family roadtrip! We went over the Fourth of July weekend and had a blast!
This was Levi’s first road trip. He did pretty good for his first time. He started out bright eyed and bushy tailed at the beginning of each leg, but then slowly melted down the longer the drive got.
We drove down on Thursday and just hung out at my brother’s place for the afternoon/evening. On the Fourth we started the day out by swimming in the hotel pool. This was Levi’s first pool experience. All of the kids had a blast.
Later that afternoon we went to James and Dawn’s house for a cookout. They have an awesome backyard for plenty of running around.
On Saturday we headed to a local park where we picnicked and played around. It was nice having so many pairs of eyes. My brother James spent most of his time with Lily and, wouldn’t you know it, his FitBit showed the greatest mileage out of all the FitBit users and I’m pretty sure this is why.
We headed back to James and Dawn’s for more yummy food and family portraits. After that we split off to do different things. Our little unit decided to check out the local fireworks show, and I am so glad we did. But you will have to wait for the next post for those details!
Finally on Sunday we started the day off with a filling breakfast, visited with my brother some more, and then headed home. I am so glad we were able to go along with my parents and I am so thankful that they made it possible!
